engine swap questions

84 cdi 110 motor smokes like a trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotr ailpro. Picked up a points 110 on the cheaps. Runs doesn't smoke. Took the wiring harness and motor from the donor.

Will the top end just swap over? Or should I just put the points motor in the cdi frame?

The cdi bottom end is 100 percent. Don't know about the points unit. Have a new carb currently on the cdi unit

Bump. I am going to be doing this tomorrow morning. Need to know which way to go. Looking for easy.

I'd say swap the whole points motor in with its wiring harness for now and rebuild the CDI motors top end. then swap it back out after you get it rebuilt. I think the top end could swap over, but I'm not sure if the points themselves can be swapped in or not. I hope this is some help.

I did some searching. Gonna swap the top end and use the cam and cdi unit from the near motor. It should swap right over
