brand new 350x

well about a year ago, we had to take our arctic cat in to get a new stator put in the old girl.well my dad ask to walk into this show case building and the guy had all kinds of honda dirt bikes, new never ran, as i was walking around these 2 headlights caught my eye and i walk over to it and there it was siting behind 3 new 1986 dirt bike still had the tags on there,so i asked if i could move the bikes and he said yea,so i did and there it was all new :drool: just saying buy me,my dad knew i wanted and he asked him how much would you take,and the guy said no for sell,i was like damn, i mean it didnt even have dirt or anything on it,i dont even think it ever been started.but it still siting there everytime i go buy there you can still see the headlights peaking out.o how much i wish i could get it,

I wonder how many are stuck in back rooms of older dealerships?

Pretty sure dealerships had to show some sort of 'certificate of destruction'.

They aren't meaning to be rude it is just that threads like this come up so often some people get annoyed by it. Give it some time and keeping chatting with the guy, maybe you could eventually get pics. I know first hand there can be some weird items at dealerships. I work at one in MO and we have half a building full of stuff people haven't picked up in the last 20 years. There is no crated bikes besides the new ones though. Even if this isn't true its cool to think about. Just my thought though.

Well it's not some ridiculous, far-fetched story like some others. You guys really think its that unheard of for some old dealer still having these tucked away? Guess you guys would never believe that there are incredibly rare, mint motorcycles parked around in our office.... At a surgical equipment company. :)

Ya it could be more far fetched. My boss took a trade in on a 1974 Triumph 750 that had 8 miles from being pushed around, the acid hasn't even been put in the original battery. Of all places he found it in a Lawyers office. I thought that was weird.

I'm just gonna say this out loud. After the last thread About new machines got quickly locked because I was in it. And Low and behold,,,ANOTHER new 3 wheeler surfaced:naughty::naughty::naughty:.. I had NUMEROUS collectors call and email me. People who WILL NOT post,,nor even become a member here,,, SIMPLY BECAUSE OF THIS BEHAVIOR. The fact that to have ANY Credibility here,,HAS to backed up with pictures,is sad at best. Is this a kid telling stories? Could be...... Is this a kid who visited a dealer,, that has Brand new machines put away that has NOT A FREAKING CARE IN THIS WORLD ,,OF taking pics of them, PROVING,, anything to anyone,,,And just enjoying the FACT that HE owns them>> I personally,,am MUCH more inclined to believe that... I beleive ya BIGREDFRAKE250 and I like the statement atc007 posted, some collectors do not want everybody knowing what they have for the simple fact there are theives everywhere. From what I gather he had quite a collection of new bikes and if the wronge person got wind of it they would in jeopardy. It is very beleivable that there are many 85-86 350X's out there in showroom mint never ran but if someone says there is a 87 350X, well that's a different story, I would have to see pics of that one,lol.

I believe the " Pics or STFU" got started when so many people claimed to have an 87. It got a little sickening......

If there is one, obviously they want to keep it to themselves which we have to respect.

Any idea how many dealers have closed in the past few years?? ALLOT. And I'm sure plenty of the stuff got thrown away or sold.

Who knows whats truly out there, it may boggle one's mind!!

as mentioend my concern was 87? really? the grey ghost? 85 or 86 would be much more believeable but an 87? i have serious doubts.

I think in theory it's possible.. There is a Honda dealer by me that every once and a while will sell a new Honda that they didn't sell and had tucked away.. Anyone interested the dealer is Hollink Motorsports. Just ask about left over atvs. Usually has a few.. And another friend of mine worked at a marina and one day stumbled onto 3 "new" snowmobiles from the 70's that were put away and forgot about.. I'm sure stuff is out there.....at least I believe it's possible.
