I've never polished ATC wheels, but "Mother's" always worked really well for me with the slots I had on my TA.

I bought a can of neverdull from a local hardware store and used that to clean up my rims really nice. It works really well but it takes a ton of scrubbing.

I've polished stock wheels last fall on my 88 250r. Its not that hard to do but with the stock wheel there was a little more work involved. The stock wheels have a thick layer of clear coat that has to come off before they can be polished. I tired a chemical stripper on them but no luck. I had to wet sand them down starting with a 320 grit and working my way up to 1000 grit. The 88 aluminum swing arm is the same way. Once you have the clear off with 320 grit start working your way up to 1000 grit. I used 320, 400, 600 800, then 1000. then took a drill and a small buffing wheel and started polishing.

Just for everyones info, the "clearcoat" on the stock wheels, is actually anodizing.
