looks like the tach could use some callibration. my 350x didnt idle at 1800 rpm... good idea tho and looks good...

Hondaline Hartman ~ yeah baby ~ ROK on Bruce !
I am more inclined to say camera don't keep up with tach (believe me, I should know on that set up :) )

So where did they drive the tach cable from?

Probably just jumps into the ignition circuit like older automotive tachs...
I agree, it does seem to need calibration. What showed as 1800rpm idle didn't sound at all like 1800. I did notice the "ATC" badge on the speedo though...
Both VERY cool! Me likey!

Its all electric Cody. The 350X has a extra wire in the loom inside the head light shell and that is for the lighting/power circuit for the tach (or in this case for tach + speedo since both of those Hondaline items come with thier own wire loom and will piggy back on top of each other.
The black/yellow on tach also piggy backs on the coil input wire and green wire is ground.
As far as idle speeds, I had my 350X idled at around 1600 because I liked the way it sounded at that R.P.M. @ idle and that was with one of Hondaline Hartman's tachs I borrowed (rented ~ LOL) for a year or so.
Great response time on them as compared to the VDO or Drag Specialties analog units for 4 strokes,,, it takes several seconds for those to drop off the rpm's but kinda cool and definitely cost effective.

Nope, I had no hand in the vid but very thankful for the posting, good memories for sure and hopefully many more in the future to come.
I too like the old school anolog gauges Vs. digital. That is why I built 2 stroke tachs the way I did.

Those are factory hondaline ATC parts. On the left is a 350x Tach and the right is the ATC speedometer head. The "case" that they are in is not honda ATC but Jon worked his magic and made it all look like it belongs
