Picked up this 90 earlier today and it runs great. Paint is a little rough and so are the rear fenders but tank and front fender do not have any dents and although the tank looks good the paint is rough where the seat touches. Rear tires both have a small plug but have decent tread and hold air, front tire holds air and has no patches or plugs. Seat is good but cover is rough everything else is good. I am probably going to end up parting it but we will see. If anyone could tell me what year it is and any info about value please let me know.

If you part it, I'd take the grab bar. I've been looking for one that isnt totally rusty.

Too complete and a runner to part it out you should be able to make a profit keeping it whole

I'm with sledcrazy. If you got it for a decent price, why not fix the smll things it needs and resell if you don't want it. Personally, I seem to only be able to find green 72/73 (K1) models; so seeing a complete orange one is great.

do not part it out, it's too nice a trike to do that to it. keep it whole and if you don't want it offer it up for sale for a fair price on here first. if no oen gets it, Ebay it. you'll get good $ for it.

I'd rather not part it, it would help if someone could estimate a value so I know if I can make at least a bit selling it whole. Also what year is it?

It's a 1972/73 K1 model. I'll probably get stomped on, but I would think you could get in the $600 range for it.

If it is only in the $600 range I'm sorry but it is getting parted. I'm kinda being greedy but I was hoping it would be just a bit more.

That's a shame to see that happen to a nice specimen.

Wow, slow down! Offer it on here for sale and see what happens. Or re-list on CL with a catchy ad like "Rare, collectors item, don't find these like this often" Don't just take my word on the price, hopefully someone else will chime in with their thoughts. Check with some of your local Honda dealers; they love to display stuff like this for nostalgia reasons. Your turn, what are you hoping it will bring?

Haha, I was a little anxiuos there. I was really just hoping for only a little more, maybe like $700. Although now I have a problem, maybe you can help. It feels like I'm getting no throttle response, so I was having a very hard time pull starting it. Then when I tried to bump start it, it would start like it wanted to run. Kinda like a low idle and it just needed me to give it some gas, but I couldn't...

You'll need to start from scratch and get yourself a manual if you don't have one already. It'll pay huge dividends. You just bought it right? Did you change the oil, spark plug and clean the air filter? The carb is probably gummed up from sitting. Drain all the old gas out of the tank, slosh it around with some fresh gas and pour that out. Is the tank rusty inside? If so search the threads for a solution. Tackle the carb and thoroughly clean and air blow every orifice out. Not uncommon to have to do this more than once; especially if you have a rusty tank. The points may need cleaning, replacing or adjusting, again a manual will walk you through that process. My gut feeling is that this has sat around for awhile and you've disturbed some crap/water in the tank and transferred it to the carb. Good luck!

I already did clean the carb and the tank, I guess I'll need to pick up some carb cleaner and soak it a bit because even though I cleared everything out it was still caked on a bit. Filter just slipped my mind I'll give that a look tomorrow and the oil looked alright but I guess ill do that aswell. I don't think any of these things will fix my problem though, although I don't know much about points so I'll have to look that up.

Once you get to the points you'll see how easy they are. Remove the two screws holding the round silver cover on the side of the head to expose the points, roll the engine over until the points are fully open. Measure with a feeler gauge. Off the top of my head they should be between 12 and 16 thou. Once satisfied, place a dollar bill betwwen them and roll the engine to close the points. Pull the dollar out or back and forth if you can to clean them. Timing is another issue with the points that you'll need the manual for. Did you ensure the two pickup tubes for fuel in the tank are clear? How about the screen in the fuel petcock, did you clean it good?

Check your compression if you are low the cleanest carb and well adjusted points won't make it run

ebaccm26

Yes the pickup tubes are clear and I did clean the screen. What should compression be at? I'll do what you suggested for the points later today or this weekend

I'm not sure whats been into me since I picked this thing up, don't really need the money so not sure why I was so eager to sell it. I decided I am going to keep it, I am at least going to sell the tires and switch over to knobbies though. That should probably cover what I'm into it for if it goes well. But yeah when I sat down and thought about it I was like why don't I want to keep this it's pretty awesome.

i think its worth 700 to the right person. good desicion to keep it. they will continue to be harder to find. it looks nice from the photos. ive seen ALOT worse!
if you dont have plugs or patches on the rear tires you should be able to get at least $100 each. i dont see as many front tires to sale. logic would say they are worth 2x as much since they made half as many, but i dont think they wore down as fast either. other guys like kickstand1 know these tires better than me. he can rate them from your photo and tell if they are overinflated, etc.

Also I am planning on putting regular tires on it, I saw there is an adapter in the 3ww shop to set it up for 3x100mm rims. Does anybody have any recommendations for rims and tires?
