I know it was about time to change the oil in the trike when the shifter starts acting up. I remember someone on a past post mentioning NO regular motor oil. Just went to the shop, "Mega-box-mart", and picked up motorcycle oil for wet clutches. What a difference clean oil and filter makes. When in doubt, clean in out?
Thanks to whom ever posted about motorcycle oil vs engine oil.

I don't know what trike this is for, but I hope you are cleaning out the oil filter screen under the right side outer case. If not, no amount of new oil will ever totally get to your oil pump. Very bad.

The screen gotta be clean!

The screen was pulled and cleaned. THANKS for the heads up though. This is on my 83 Honda 200.

Changing the oil on a Honda semi-auto makes all the difference in the world.

I was out for a hunt and it just wasn't shifting as easy. So I figured it was the oil issue. It seems to have done the job I was hoping. A lot easyer shifting.

Absolutely. It may have been me talking about changing the oil. I've personally seen oil changes free up stuck transmissions on more than one occasion with Honda semi-autos.

Your welcome to come on down if you have the time. I think you are the only person that has less free time than I do. Eric is catching up fast though. I just have to make sure you aren't loading any parts into your truck! LOL Rems, I'm glad you made the right call and cleaned the screen. It never ceases to amaze me how many people don't and then wonder why their engine locks up or when they wipe a cam.

Screen on a 200?
Is that the one under the big side oil drain?
or the matchbook sized one buried under the side cover like a 90/110?

The matchbook sized screen under the side cover. I don't think the atc200 has a filter cartridge.

The screen is under the spring that hold the drain cap from ever going back on easy. On the lower side cover on the 83 200. Looks like a thimble size.

I remember something funny about the matchbook internal screen.
Will look today and report back.
Also something mentioned last year about the internal centrifugal
oil slinger / filter. under the side cover.
Something about the inside of the flywheel will catch muck and crud
and wants to be attended to periodically.
Got some good responses.
Manual recommends it.
I've been putting neodymium magnets on the outside of all
my drainplugs to catch ferrous metals.
They just snap on and actually hard to pull off.
Size of a pencil eraser and easily pick up a framing hammer.

I've seen magnets on automotive plugs as everyone has. I will have to do that. Just incase after 25+ years if it goes out now. It will be out spite I'm sure.
