I'm starting to gather parts for a all out 250r mx build. I got a 92 cr 500 linkage the other day and was wondering has anyone ever tried this setup on a atc? It was the hot setup for the trx back in the day and the swingarm setups are pretty much the same on the atc. I was thinking on having walsh build one of their swingarms for the build and have axis build a custom shock for it. I've already have the engine built and that's a 1st for me. Usaully that's the last thing to do.

So ready for this build..

Mike Hallett said there is still a never used Tarantula kit out there for the 85-86 250r.. Used all cr500 suspension for baja racing..

I have the CR500 setup on my YZR444 hybrid and even though the swingarm is the same as a TRX, the top shock mount is MUCH higher for the 500 shock. I had to cut the seat pan to get my rear fenders on, thats how high it needs to be.

The other thing is that the aftermarket TRX frames like mine uses mid 90s CR500 linkage with a aftermarket shock made to work with the quad. I don't know dirt bikes at all so I don't know if your linkage and shock is even close to what the TRX uses.

Good luck.

Here are some random pics of a normal TRX CR500 setup, maybe they can help.

oem dirtbike shocks have the rezzy bottle attached on the right hand side, if you not using aftermarket. FYI

I've done research on which linkage works and the 91-93 is what I heard is the one you want. It's going to be a one off custom so I know I'm in for some work. Thanks for posting the pictures of your quad to see what I'm in for. As popular as this setup was there is no info on the net about it. I guess on racing stuff is kept secret.
