Nice 70 you got there. Might be worth picking up a red 70 for your son to ride and keeping that one safe. I will trade you my blue front fender with a hole in it for your un-damaged one?
Your son will love the 70. Great gift for a kid.

Its a sin when they get cut. Finding an un-cut rear fender can be a long journey.

I just rebuilt the pull start on my 85 70 before I sold it. Never done it before and was really very easy. Just preloading the spring was the only "tricky" part. Just experimenting with how much to pretension the load. Worked like a charm after that.

Rotella diesel oil is what I run in both of mine. I have an xmas special that some retard repainted red and put maier red fenders on it. I only can tell by the blue under the tank scratches.

I just use Honda 4stroke oil. I run my 70's all year long

Yeah I go mob the neighborhood on it in the winter. I just do a good warm up before taking off. The diesel oil doesn't have any friction modifiers, its just good old dino oil. It's cheap for a gallon compared to the 7-8 bucks a quart I just paid for Spectro.
