Ok fellas 1st question for the 250Rs front fork set up on all 250Rs are trailing axles right not leading axles?
2nd question 350Xs all the 350Xs are leading front axles correct?
3rd question can the 250R forks be turned around making it leading axle
for use on a 350X ??
the reason Im asking these stupid questions is because my 350X project has 250R forks hopefully this roller im going to see has the right forks or forks period .
man the mess keeps getting bigger and bigger.

250r's are trailing
350X's are leading

If you turn the 250r's around, your brake and rotor and everything else will be bassakwards.

The thing to do is get a set of 350X forks and swap in the 250R innards. You get more travel and much more spring rages are available for the 250R.

Not what you wanted to hear eh? Mr. ATC has posted bout this but I'm not sure where. Might try searching for it cause as I remember it, he explained it in a bit more detail.

I was down to MR ATC's back in August. We (well more he) rebuilt my front 350X forks with new seals, boots, and Progressive Fork Springs. The diameters of the 250R and 350X forks are different, so you will need to change triple trees too. I remember Bill asking for a triple tree to clamp the fork into to get the cap off. I picked up a 250R one and he said it wouldn't work. Then proceeded to find a 350X one.

You guys are both right, 250r's have bigger diamter forks, but you can put the innards in a 350x, you just need to know what year forks to get them from, I think the '83/4 innards will fit in a 350x fork, but the liquid R's have bigger forks therefor you'd need the R clamps too. I havn't done any of these mods, just going by what MR ATC has said. I can't belive the '83/4 R's would have a inch more travel since they were a year older than the 350x.
