There are different methods of installing the mechanical seal. This Thread is for those who would rather not use a socket & hammer.
First, The Tools...
12mm x 90mm long bolt
12mm nut & washer
1" x 1/2" Copper Coupling (plumbing section Home Depot)
All for around $7

The Copper Coupling fits over the seal without touching it and seats perfectly on the seal flange

Notice how well the Copper Coupling fits on the flange of the seal...

The 12mm nut turns on the inner race of the old bearing. The 12mm bolt fits perfect through the old bearing and squares things up...

Pressed in very smooth with no damage and no drama...

Make sure to turn the nut and not the bolt.
Press in dry. (It goes in easy)
Replace the bearing.
Hope this helps the next guy...
