Hey guys,

I traded some work on a boat for a 125M about a year ago. It was an older guy i knew he didnt ride the thing and I really didnt want to take his money. So I ended up with a 125M (thats how this started for me). Anyhow it has sat in the garage about a year now. It has new tires and a nearly new plastic tank. Those are the good points. It runs well but smokes A LOT! Were talking Cheech and Chong would be impressed with the amount of smoke coming out of this thing and the plastic is usable but on its last leg. So would I being doing better to off it whole or trying to sell the parts?

Would like to fund some parts for my 250ES with it, or I would trade for a 70 for my kids. Really want 2 70's I have twin boys but all in time right!

Thanks, looking forward to spendiing some time on this site!

You have to tell us what year the bike is. The 85 is a completely different bike from the 86.

84-85 125's are the same. not all, but some of the 84-85 90/110 parts are the same also.
runs well, but smokes alot? i'm going to say new gaskets or maybe topend refresh might be all you need. you'd have to dig in there to find out though really. :beer

Played with the bike a little this afternoon. Ran it for a minute and the smoke did not seem to go away at all. All the old dirt and oil began smoking off the sides too from sitting. Had to shut it down before the FD got called. But, no knocks what so ever, started on first pull, idle was way too high but throttle response was perfect. I think your right Im going to have to pull the head and jug and see what is happening in there. I also think a carb clean out is going to be in order. Luckily it had zero gas in it so the tank is clean as a pin. I also noticed that it drips fuel out of one of the tubes coming from the carb. when the petcock is on and the bike isnt running??? So I think my next step is a trip to auto zone for some degreaser and then off to the coin op for a poor mans steam clean and pressure wash. Then it will be time to dig in.

If anyone has a start swith and the wiring laying around for this bike I might be interested. I have the kill switch on the bike but the part with the actual start button is missing. Looks like it broke and they micky moused a push button by the key swith.

Thanks for the information guys.
