I need to know what the engine for the tiger 200 was sourced from and where in the world to find the engine parts. I have search for vintage can am parts and all I can seem to find is the newer atv parts sites. Don't get too excited I don't have a tiger but I believe the engine I have uses the same piston as the tiger 200. I have found one wiseco piston but it is an oem that I am after. I believe it should have a single "L" shaped ring withe the pin for the ring at 6 o'clock. any help would be a great

Try looking for a Can-Am ASE 200.

Blue27 could probably answer your question. I believe the Tiger200 is the same motor as the 250,But has a smaller sleeve.

there has been a debored Tecate piston on eBay for some time now. NOSThere are several but they are all around 62mm. The engine I have has had more work done than just a sleeve and a smaller piston and takes a 64.5 mm piston.

I talked to my machine shop today about doing that.

The 200 was only a sleeved down 250. Trust me, blue27 and I have seen and have the parts. The 200s are hard to find. Unless you must have a 200, and god knows why, just use the 250 parts.

I'm in the vintage motorcycle market, one of my customer told me he fit a snowmobile skidoo tundra 250 piston in his can-am 250 tnt ,he said it's almost the same piston. You could try it,aftermarket parts are cheap for the snowmobile.

Tiger 200 is different

I have attached a pic of a Wiesco Tiger 200 64.3mm and a Wiesco Tecate 200 debore Piston 62mm Rotax orginally used Elko pistons but Wiesco do make replacements.

That is what my whole issue is blue The engine is a debored/destroked tecate engine with an elko piston. It says 1227D on the top and 3E64 30/1 is cast in the inside of the skirt. From what I have found out the dimensions of this piston match the tiger 200 exactly (wiseco 537p) I have spent I have spent countless hours investigating this and it all leads back to the tiger piston,It's a good thing they are so readily available:rolleyes:. 154099154100154101154102

I just got of the phone with agentleman by the name of tony murphy,he was able to confirm the piston I have is indeed a rotax 200 piston. He has it in stock with a .25mm oversize. For you tiger, can am guys he said he has just about everything (engine) in stock for the 200,250and 500 very lttle for the 125 though. He said he had wiseco produce the 500 pistons for him because they are not avilable from austria. Here is his contact info if you don't already have it
