$75 sounds like a decent price to me. i got my 74 ATC70 last fall for $200 (runs/rides). i'd say you could turn it and make a profit, especially if you get it running. personally though i'd hold onto it, but then again i've got a soft spot for the little guys.

just curious, would it be the one needing a stator and flywheel? and yes post pics. :beer

I picked up my 85 70 for $150. Pretty good condition all it needed was 30 dollars worth of pull start parts. I'd say you have a good deal as well.

Thanks for the info guys, I just talked with my nephew I am getting it from and I will pick it up tomorrow evening. I have been doing some research and it seems the pull start alone is worth more than the whole bike.lol I really hate parting out these machines but I may in this case because from what I hear it needs alot of work. I heard it was a good rider but I just got off the phone with him and it needs more work than i thought. Seat has no cover, needs new front tire, needs points, fenders are junk. He said it ran but it sat all winter, i will post pics tomorrow !

Here are the pics! I just needs a little work & it's a little rough looking, the tank is not rusted on the outside and no holes and not beat up. Although there is surface rust inside but I think that can be cleaned. It does not run , the carb was barley bolted on and so was the pull start and tank. It has very good compression and I know it will run , the only thing it might need is a set of points and clean the carb and tank. It needs fenders and a seat cover, the seat cushion looks good. Rear grab bar is tweeked and the tires are ok from what I see but worn, front forks are streight. The pull start is worth more thank the bike, lol and it will fit the 1980 and under . I was told the 81-85 pull starts will only fit if you put washers behind the pull start case. This 70 may get parted and I may concider selling it whole for the right offer. This can be made into a decsent bike with very little cash

It's actually a good base for a restoration, most parts are fairly cheap for these little guys.

I don't need any more ATC70's but I would have snagged that up for sure. I'm looking for a red front number plate for my 79. My 79 has a black one and its supposed to be red like yours. Nice find.

That was the first thing I looked at when I went to pick it up, it's a real shame though. The number plate has a small chunk broken off the right corner as seen in picture 4, it could have been worth something .I am so tempted in restoring it because there is everything out there to make it look new again thanks to fellow enthusiasts. Does anyone repro the number plates ? This would be a fun build but I favor the 1985 model with the blue sea etc and I would probably do away with the points and use the CDI instead.

Blown 331,
I may still have the red number plate from my wife's 70. They are hard to come by since they only came on the 79 model

i hate to say it but parting this 1 70 could help build several others. if done right you could make enough money to rescue a much nicer newer model yr 70 that could have ended up getting trashed by some douche bags.

Mine is a 1978 model and it is red, both 1978 and 1979 came in that color and went black in 1980

My bad. I was under the impression that only the 79 had the red number plate.
