86 ATC 250R OEM Frame Color? Passion Red?

I was just on the Color Rite website and they list "Passion Red" as a Honda color but unfortunately they only list applications that go back to 1991. Does anyone know if this is the OEM frame color for the 86 250R? I'm pretty sure the plastics are passion red.

While I haven't made up my mind yet, I've also considered powder coating because of its durability. I've heard "Begal Red" and "Red Barron" are good but not perfect matches to OEM. Anyone know a spot-on match for powder coating?

R109 Honda Passion Red is what your looking for and is now impossible to get.

When I rebuilt by 85 350X, I just used some SS red poly over gray epoxy primer - all from Summit.

Is it perfect OEM match? No.

Was it cheap? yes
Could I do it at home in my backyard? yes
Does it look good? yes
It's tough - stand up to gas, oil, brake cleaner, etc - not like the rattle can paint I put on my other projects :(. You think I would learn my lesson.

That mirror powder from Columbia is some really shiny stuff. I get their John Deere green and yellow and they have worked
out perfectly. I'll be tearing down my ATC 70 this winter I'll have to give their red a try.

The Passion Red on the Color Rite website is listed as R109. Are you sure it is no longer available? I know Color Rite provides OEM paint for a lot of manufactures. When Suzuki had an issue with their early LTR 450 frames they sent people to Color Rite for touch up paint. Here is the link:
