my 200x exhuast has a couple holes in the header from rusting through. i grinded the whole pipe down to bare steel and had a someone braze it which didnt work. i tried jb weld puddy and also quiksteel which is rated over 500 degrees and both didnt work. anyone have any suggestions of how to repair it? I would get a different one but NOBODY has any aftermarket headers for the 200x.

I have an exhaust header I'll sell ya.
I have used exhaust puddy to repair small holes its like bondo dent filler but high temp for exhaust it held up for along time in the desert not even sure if the repair was ever dealt with afterward.

Welding them shut is the only method I would use.

i think its to thin to use any type of welding. We used a metal cloths hanger which melts really fast when we were brazing and the heat kept opening a new hole.

MIG would work. I've MIG'ed many rust holes in gas tanks with great success. You could always weld on small "patches" if needed.

Fiberglass exhaust wrap . If their small holes this will do the trick and it will also keep the heat off your leg .

A picture would be helpful.

Your finding a 200X head pipe difficult to find??

Have you posted in classifieds and watched EBAY??

Seemed like a fairly common part to me......

yea i have a post in the classifieds and i am currently and have been for the past month looking on ebay. i do not have a picture of it but i can tell you its pin size holes to about pen tip size if not bigger. when i was wire wheeling it most of the pipe is rusted out cause new holes kept forming

P.S. its not a stocker its a cobra headpipe but any aftermarket would work

IMHO, COBRA is just obnoxiously loud. However, it allows for jetting and running without the air box lid so they give you some more UMPFFFFF!

Call Cobra, call GD, see if they sell just the headpipe.

Someone here got a "J" pipe from JEGS and made it work for them.

Should be able to weld it on low heat no problem... I've welded my exhaust on my sx a few times...

As DC said someone (me) made a head pipe from the bends you came get in the jegs or summit catalog. 1-3/8" tube is the one you want .
