What oil do you guys use in your 350x forks. i have rebuilt ones in the past and used ATF like the book calls for but was looking for something that will give me a better feel. I ride rocky trails and am about 185 pounds.

ATF is basically 10wt. Do you jump or hit obstacles at speed??

On one of my 350X's I have spacers on the spring and use 84 250R guts which is similar to the Terry Cable kit which is long gone.

I'm 25lbs heavier than you and I run 20 weight.

The 250R front end on my other 350X gets 15 weight and progressive springs.....

ATF on both my 350x's, and one of them has the 2nd gen 250R damping rods inside (like dirtcrasher metioned). I'm 205 with gear on and don't jump or hit huge bumps often where I ride. I'm happy with the feel. The 2nd gen 250R damping rods are supposed to help dampen the shock rebound better than the stock 350x valving and give a bit more travel. It is an easy swap if you are rebuilding the forks (100% bolt on). I haven't actually done an immediate back-to-back comparison of the two machines though, but they both feel nice.
