just using this pic as a example: 152956
those 5 half-bolt half-stud keep coming loose on my 83 X. ive tried everything... loc-tite, lots of torque on the nuts, etc. and the bolts keep coming loose. they haven't fallen off, but they are starting to run into my swinger, causing damage to the bolts, nuts, and my swinger. im fed up and just thinking about welding the bolts to the sprocket. but before i do anything major, i wanted to know what you guys think i should try and if you have ever had this problem before.
PS: the sprocket is an aftermarket one, and the part that keeps the bolts from turning has been rounded out too

If in fact the channel is rounded out on the backside, that is a pretty good reason why your bolts keep coming loose. From that kind of vibration/location, no amount of loctite is going to help. I would say go get another sprocket. Is that one you have steel? If not go get a steel sprocket.

honestly you'd be better running some solid sprocket having the opening or 5 holes machined to match the hole spacing. the design its self is just horrible, you lucky they are loose, most times they are rounded off froze on. JT sprokets has drawings online which you can look at to find somthing close to modifiy. i havent done this because i got rid of the entire system.
