I think under crazy70man's list of trikes it says "one very understanding wife". Well That is very true here as well. Last Monday I bought a little Allis b210 from a guy at work, brought that home, Tuesday comes and I brought nothing home but Wednesday I had The day off and ended up bringing home a load of atc 70's and a 125m, then on Thursday I bring home a small jon boat, ya like I needed the boat but it was a super good price and I a, kinda donating it to my favorite pond), So Saturday comes and I suggest to my wife that we go to a specific town to eat supper.......well that was so I could stop by and save an 83 R! Surprisingly enough she didn't say a word....but there was that look:lol:

Thanks for sharing with the group..admitting you have a problem is the 1st step toward getting better..

We'll talk again in 30 days and see if you have earned your 1st chip back!!

You be crackin me up thinking there is any sort of restraint when it comes to 3wheelers and by the way...... I know dat look all too well. My wife can be screamin at me with her eyes and not a peep comes out of her pretty little mouth. Where do they learn that from? Wife School? Naw, can't be Wife School. There they teach women to be submissive and do what we want without question and why is it when WE shoot them that look all they do is laugh... Something just aint right.

I love those kinds of weeks. Around my house that is called a gathering week. Then, you spend the next 6 months sorting it out :D

LOL.......Nice score Shane! Looks worth the gamble. I even pushed the envelope a few weeks back and sold my wifes 87 sx. I really got the "Look" It was all good as it was bought by a local father and son and he was very excited. I would rather spread the fun of that trike to another generation than have it sit in the shop I told her. She still has a big red though. The "look" can however be very enlightening at times though would you agree?? Still some nice stuff there.....lol....

The 99.9% complete atc 70 runs ,minus the gas cap. Has been in storage for 5 years with carb drained, put gas in it and fired right up! There is a nice clean 73 frame in there too. Will be parting the rest when the time comes. All will be posted in the classifieds.

Is that also a cobra expansion chamber on the R? Those are really good if it is one.

I think so but I haven't had many R's so I am not as familiar with these as all the rest. I wish I had more time now to part it out but my job has got me wide open....not many peeps looking forward to a layoff but I am. I have a huge list of projects to get to this year.

I am finishing parting out the R today. Don't have too much left besides pulling the motor and unbolting the swingarm. I have been picking at it for a few weeks off and on when I get the time. I am layed off now so I have tons of time to do what I want. I looked on ebay and it seems like the front rim is actually an 86 350x. If this is correct give me an amen or hel l ya

Which way does the swingarm come out? Looks like its going to be a PITA.

Do I have to actually take the swingarm completely off to get the motor out?? Having a hell of a time with this and I have pulled 100's of motors. Looks like the swing arm is seized. O what fun it is

Yeah, you have to pull the swingarm to get the motor out. I hit my swingarm bolt with a 30lb sledge and large punch about 100 times, after soaking it with penetrating oil, and it finally came out. Some guys say screw it, and cut the bolt on each side of the swingarm with a sawzall, then the remaining comes out easily.Other guys have used a really heavy duty air chissel, and have had luck that way. Either way, its a pita. Good luck, and are the parts going for sale on ebay?

This is what I was thinking would probably go down as far as removing the bolt. I wont torch it unless I have no choice but then again my arms and wrist are junk with plates in both wrist's so that could change. Thanks for replying. I hate ebay with a passion so I wont put them up there. They will be available in the classifieds here and will throw some in the trailer on big trike rides.
