Hey guys. I love my 200x, but I don't love the fenders. I'm going with a 250r front, and a number plate up front, but I was wondering if its possible to put 85/86 250R rear fenders on my 200x and use the 200x seat. I don't mind drilling new holes in the plastic so thats not a problem. Could someone just lay a set of 250r fenders on the back of their 200x and take a couple pics so I can see how it lines up with the tank? I am running a Clark desert tank so its a little more forgiving as far as rear fenders lining up....

Nice X! I have 84r rears on mine and love them. On my gen 1 the rear fenders needed to be drilled to fit for sure. Sadly though one side of the rear fender where the tank and fender meet the PO cut the fenders section off. So only one side is there. But they seem to look OK and fit ok. Here is a early picture of the fenders on my gen1.

Thanks! My trike is a 1st gen too, 1984. Your trike looks good too. Those 84R fenders look pretty good but their not the style I'm looking for, I was hoping to have front and rear fenders from an 86R on my X.

I dont know how 250r fenders would look on 200x, the tires dont sit very far outside of the 200x fenders so in my opinion they 250r denders would not look good because they would sit out pretty far

I just put 86/87 200x fenders on my 1st gen 200x and they actually turned out surprisingly well! They are kinda like the same style as the 3rd gen 250r.

Got any pics? Thats another swap I'd like to do. How hard was it? what work was required?

Don't have pics right now cause I took my tank off to get it painted white to match the white fenders. I might put it on my other x to take a picture for you and I just had to drill my holes that was it

If you could get some pics of that seat setup on your other X that would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to see how it looks.

I wonder who it was? I've seen 1 picture of it once, but I can't find it again. It looked pretty good. I planned on 400ex hubs and 1 inch stud extenders on the rear to widen my 200x 4 inches, so I think it would look good with 250R fenders

Do you have a link to his profile? I tried searching his name and using the advanced search but couldnt find it. I'd like to ask him how he set it up. Thanks.

I got to heat up the seat pan and re adjust it so it sits a little closer and I might trim the plastic right where it meets up with gas tank. Other then that I think it turned out pretty good what you guys think?

I think it looks awesome. Much better than the 1st gen rear fenders. I'm looking into 250R and 2nd gen 200x rear fenders for my 1st gen since I'm buying a 250R front fender, and my stock rear fenders have a chunk missing out of 1 side about 2 inches wide and 9 inches long.
I actually found a pic of 250R rear fenders on a 1st gen 200x but I don't remember where I found it! Its also really small, but, its the best I could find. Here it is:

So then you can still use the stock first gen 200X seat?
What holes have to be drilled?

I just lined up the seat to the fender and drilled the holes. It turned out suprisingly well and it's nice to use the stock seat.
