350X MOTOR 1 TSA 0 epic fail!!!!

so i flew back from washington tuesday evening . i brought back a unused 350x motor in my check on luggage,, hey the limit on southwest is 100 lbs, so i packed it up and weighed it at the ups store,, 99.1 so i am good to go,, well i get to the airport and unload on the curb , the skycap comes over and says "sir i'ii get that" i was like its heavy ,, so he grabs on and moves it 5 feet and says sorry but this is to heave to check,,, i said get the scale ,, its not 100 lbs, so i carried it to the scales 99.5 still good to go! and that will be $50 what a deal! so now after packing it so perfect,,, he says the tsa wants to open it,,, so they wheel it in to the little "ROOM" the guy pulls a knife out and starts cutting all 20 zipties off the lid,, i stepped back because the knife was real dull and his knife handling skills were disturbing to me,, on the 3rd zip tie the knife pops out and WHAM!!!! RIGHT IN HIS OTHER ARM!! nice 3 inch long gash!!! man it was ugly! ,, and bleeding alot!! so off to the infirmery he goes,, now the second guy comes in and says it has to come out of the package,, but i can't lift it,, so i said i would ,, he screams get back, this is TSA property now and until its cleared you cannot touch it,,, so 10 minutes later they find another person to help him lift it on to the bench!! to he swabs the whole motor with a special rag,, i said thanks for wiping it all down,, it looks great,,, the rag passed the test so it ollks like its ok to ship!! well DUH!!! SO I PACKAGE IT ALL UP AND AWAY TO THE PLANE I GO RIGHT????? wrong i have the carb,oil cooler, cooler lines ,decompressor cable and all the rubber hoses in my carry on!!!
so they run my pack back and forth while 4 people look at it,,, they call me over and ask if this is my bag... yep its mine!!! what is that ? so i tiold them,, so mnow i have to open my pack so they can see this new carb and misc,,, so it goes in a tub to be ran seperate,, see ita all good right???? yep and i repack my pack and the countershaft sprocket covered with tape rolls out and on the floor!!! WHATS THAT??? LETS NOT PANIC its a sprocket, i pick it up and away to the planr i go,,, finally!!!! so here it is! an unmolested 350x motor,,

That's hilarious. And I thought I was the only one that had stupid stuff happen to them like that. The knife part reminds me of when I was in the Navy. They issued us these really nice $100 Gerber tools (knife, wrench, etc all in one). Now I'm a hunter and fisherman- I can skin a buck, filet a fish, etc. But lo and behold I dang near slice my left thumb off doing something at work. Go get stitches and everybody is making fun of me. THE VERY NEXT DAY I'm cutting a rubber hose and wham I get a 1'' or so gash across my right thumb. This one's not as bad, but needed stitches as well and they actually took my damn knife away lol. Talk about embarrassing for a country boy. I wonder if that guy felt as retarded as I did.

lol very funny, many many yerars ago when we were racing , I had a 250x cylinder head in my carry on and when going through LAX I had half the security force there after I went threw the xrays, lol "open the box slowly sir.....slower" that was way before all this crap, had to be a good time since you knew you were legal.

reminds me of many years ago when i walked into my biddies shop and saw 2 never ran 350x engine still bolted to what was left of the frames when honda cut them up in 87... wish i would have bought them....
