Greetings,

I cleaned and replaced seals in my 85 250r forks yesterday and I'm having problems tightening the hex bolt that goes into the dampening rod from the bottom of the fork on one of the forks. Once it starts to tighten the dampening rod is spinning inside the tube and I can't tighten it enough. The treads on both the dampening rod and the bolt are good. I'm tightening it with the spring and cap installed. Any ideas Thanks?

I use an impact wrench.

Compress the fork down so the spring puts more pressure on the damping rod, then tighten the bolt.

Impact gun here too, and make sure to use blue loctite on them.....

New washer and compressing the spring did the trick. Thanks
