It was listed as excellent condition, runs good. Well it was low on compression and needed a zillion other things I got it running decent for about a month then I decided rather than grenade the motor I would tear it down. It was pretty noisy now I know why the rod bearing was on its way. This way an ebay special. never again LOL! Anyway I have every new bearing seal for the engine plus a esr 310 topend going on it with a 38mm carb

If anybody can tell me what pipe that is I would sure like to know! It has 9 sections to it the very first two curves looks to be stamped the rest looks hand made. Thanks

What's with the silicone on the cases? Did the PO do that instead of replacing the gaskets? That's a lot of goo.

While you have it apart, don't forget to replace the old cast CB carrier with a billet CB carrier and have new bearings installed on the CB as well. If the 25 year old cast CB carrier lets go, or one of the CB bearings let go it will wreak havoc on your bottom end as well...
Looking again at your pics, you clutch basket fingers look grooved as well. Make sure you at least smooth them out, or better yet get a Hinson basket and pressure plate in there.

Thanks for the input. I will def use the billet bearing carrier. Esr is going to install a new bearing on the CB. I trashed the flywheel trying to get it off it stripped the puller. I have tried a 3 jaw puller and it is really stuck I tried a BFH too. So I have to get a new flywheel too. But it will be worth it when its ready to rip..

Man,,this just really urks me!! What trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro hole seller can we attribute this mess too again? How do some crooks sleep at night???????!!!!!!!! I seriously just do not get it. he is a well known seller on ebay and it looks a 100 times better in pictures than it does in real life. Spray foam and a camera does wonders! there is no way it was checked over that well before it was listed and it said excellent condition runs good..
The wiring was hacked
broken headlight glass
fork boots shot
front tire dry rot
cases jb welded
water in stator cover gasket was shot
Wrong carb on it. leaked gas as fast as you put it in
exhaust leaks at head 1 stripped bolt and missing a spring
regulator mount almost broken
tailight missing nuts and wires broke
chain was beyond shot
front sprocket shot
case saver is gone but cover is there?
wrong bolts on shrouds
shrouds cracked
fill radiator is S shaped lol
tank was badly sun damaged
headlight shroud does have a small crack too
clutch cable broke after I finally got it to run
missing all vent hoses and tubes from engine and carb
crank bearing shot
that is the short list. I did get about 150 miles on it before I took it apart.
