Anyone know if 86-87 Piston rings will work on the 84-85 Piston????

Rings are 70.00mm. Wiseco ring part number is 2756CD. RIngs fit the following models with Wiseco piston kit number listed:
Honda 73-77 CR250/MT250 with standard bore with Wiseco piston kit 431PS or 431M07000.
Kawasaki 98-05 KDX220 with .040 bore with Wiseco piston kit 750P4 or 750M07000.
Kawasaki 78-86 KX250 standard bore with Wiseco piston kit 439PS or 439M07000.
Yamaha 76-78 YZ250 standard bore with Wiseco piston kit 234PS or 234M07000.
Yamaha 80-82 IT/YZ250 standard bore with Wiseco piston kit 452PS or 452M07000.
Yamaha 83 IT250 with .080 bore with Wiseco piston kit 515P8 or 515M07000.
Yamaha 85-86 YTZ250 TRI-Z with .080 bore with Wiseco piston kit 515P8 or 515M07000.
Not sure if you are wanting to know about OEM rings but I guess Kawasaki.com would tell you that.

Ya I was wondering about OEM, I can't seem to find it. Probably a stupid question, but just want to be sure.

Interesting Kawasaki says OEM 1986 KX250 and that's it for other models. Strange. But, the part is still active in limited quantity.

The piston is still available?? Every site I have tried says they are discontinued. I know that the rings are still available. I have an OEM 85 and a set of OEM 86 rings, just wanted to see if I could use those rings rather than buying another set for the 85.

Good to see another 86/87 Tecate being rescued!

I meant the OEM rings are active and according to KAwasaki work only on 1986 KX250 and 86/87 Tecate piston.
OEM 1986 KX250 piston is same as 1984 Tecate piston.
OEM 1985 tecate piston is some sort of odd ball? Weird....

Hello
Nice resto, I actually did most of the development testing on all the kxt models when I was at kawi so I'm kind of fond of them. The 86 kxt was my favorite, the original prototype they had me test was terrible, I had to redo lot's of things on it, lol.

Thanks for the info.
As for the frame, it is powder coated, I do not know the exact name of the color. I could prob find out if that would help you. It was one of the generic colors they had at the powder coaters, but it was pretty close to dead on to the OEM color.
TORKER, The rotors I had resurfaced. I have an extra 86 rotor that is resurfaced, PM me if you are interested.

Does anyone know the silver color that Kawi used on the frames?
I powder coated my 87 with "silver sparkle." It has a little more sparkle than the OEM color but it is still a good match. I can post some pictures in the future.

Another cool silver color is 'alien silver' from NICI.
It's what I put on my handlebars.

So, I am pretty much done with this build. These are not the best photos, but I am pretty happy with how it turned out. Looks pretty nice next to my 250r. The only thing left to do is get a new Clarke gas tank.
