trx 200sx engine in 200x

Guy by me has one real cheap says it was rebuilt and he has the paper work to prove it. Any idea how hard it would be to put it in an 86 200x. I think he said it was an 88.

Never done it,but I think there would be a LOT of shoehorning getting that stuffed in there. Completely different bottom ends.

Well I checked it out for ya and it looks like it would go. You will have an issue with the rear engine mount and maybe the swing arm mount bolt area. the sx engine does not have the endent in the case for the swingarm mount. What is wrong with the 200x engine, the top ends I beleive are the same as are some of the enternals. i would fix the 200x engine. The sx engine is alot wider that is for sure.

It needs a gear shift plat. Impossible to find. If I can find the part I will fix it but till then I want to be able to ride it. I found an sx engine for 60 bucks think I might get it. If I can't get it to fit I will jus sell it. I think it would be cool to have an auto x with reverse lol.

I am pretty sure I have a 200x gear shift plate laying around at home...if you are interested in rebuilding the 200x send me a PM and I will find it for you.


Oops, you need one for an 86...I don't have one of those. My bad. I do have one for a first gen though.
