ytm225 oil cooler

I've know about this set up for awhile and figured i'd share with it my fellow 3ww members.i found an oil cooler kit made for the bear tracker and timberwolf,as some of us know those two bikes have engines that are almost identical to the ytm200/225.as a matter of fact i had a spare ytm225 engine that i put in my girlfriends 2002 beartracker,it was a direct bolt in,more about that later.anyway the kit part number is aba-4xecl-lr-kt and the adapter number is aba4xcellr02.will post pictures of the kit i have later tonight.

The 200/225/250cc air cooled have been tried and tested in trikes and quads for three decades and are still going having never had one!

Interested in seeing it..but my 1st question would have to be why does it need it?

Same reason ppl add oil coolers to other air cooled bikes,to help them run cooler.

Personally I believe they are a placebo for the rider..

I think its a great idea. A lot of the larger displacement 4 strokes had the oil cooler from the factory, including the 350x for example. The oil cooler does make a difference in the overall temp of the engine, providing better performance, because of a cooler engine. I have noticed power loss riding a 200x on a hot summer day, especially when going up a sand hill with the throttle pinned. It performed much better a week before, when it was 70 degrees. A lot of the racers back in the day ran oil coolers, especially on 200x, so that must mean something.

Yeah I agree with what you say, but the Yamaha 200/225 aren't exactly in the 'racer' class, lets be honest!!

You can put racing fuel, Supertrapp exhaust and paint flames on it too...it's still not, you just spent more money on it.
