Hey ya'll, I've posted in the classifieds looking for a seat for my buddies 82 185s. He bought one, but it had the plastic panand didn't fit. Does anybody know anything about these? We've had a hard time finding them on Ebay and whatnot, so are they rare? Also, will any other seat pans fit his plastics?
Thanks for any help ya'll can offer!

You may have a 200 pan? '81-'83 185s pan is the same. No others will work.- Problem is finding a useable metal pan that hasnt rotted/rusted away completely yet. (not an easy find). I like the idea of a plastic ones- but I dont like the way they mount to the frame. Lets see the one you have...

ATC Heaven still have 1 each available. These guys are in Australia but they are a great place to do business with. Their shipping will take a couple of weeks but considering the distance and customs, thats not bad. I know many guys who have bought stuff from them and none of them had anything bad to say.

Sorry I can't show you the pan. After he figured out it didn't work he sold it. It was plastic and only off by a very little bit. I think the pegs were a little too wide- like less than an inch. We considered shaving it to see if it would work, but decided against it.
If your sure an 81-83 will work then at least I can expand my search a bit.
Thanks for that info and the link. Looks like it will be almost a $100 with shipping. Kinda steep, but if that's all we can find.....

A while back I was given an 81 185S and it was in horrible shape. I found a guy here in OK who had I believe was the last aftermarket plastic seat pan left on earth. It was still in the bag. I paid 75.00 for it but after many hours of searching for a seat pan with no luck, I was certianly glad to have paid that and even at 100.00 is still a decent deal if none are available plus no more rotting seat pans.

If anyone has a spare seat pan .Send it to DC Plastic to have them repo it.A member from a 250r site sent in a 81-82 250r metal seat pan and they copied it and now have them in their store.

You're good- I knew what you were talking about. In fact, it was a 200s pan. That is what the guy had he sold it to. I agree with the person who said it wasn't a bad deal if that is all you can find- still gotta spend the money though. Usually after an hour or so of searching the net, I can find anything- and if I can't it must be really hard to find. So I'm guessing there ain't many of these seats out there.
Somebody get generous and do what 300r said- send DC a seat. We actually saw a thread where a guy made his own from fiberglass and are considering that. But the guy never finished and it might be more trouble than it's worth.
Thanks for all the input though.

If it's a 185s heck yea it will help. Are all the 185's from 81-83 185s or did they offer just a plain old 185 for those years?

thinking about contacting DC plastics now if there are more people needing a 185s seat pan?

They are hard to find not rusted to nothing. I had a really nice one about 4 years back. I think it brought about $80 plus shipping on eBay when I sold it. I wish now I would have sent it to DC
Do you know how long they keep it for? I have a pan now that is in decent shape but it's on a trike that I was going to be selling soon.
