I'll have to look but I think I'm running a 52 pilot and 175 main on my 310 with a 39mm pwk.

ya 60 is big; i dont know how the stock carb is in reagrd to fuel needs on a 310..... I am running a 39pwk on my 310; i settled on a 170 main and a 50 pilot for mine on 93 octane. I am swapping to race gas when my new dome gets here and will bump up to a `175 main and 52 pilot and start from there.

what reeds are you running? exhaust? theres more than jetting to making one of these 310's run great.

Be careful with ESR's jetting recommendations. Seems like they are a little hit and miss on that but I tend to cut em some slack. They recommended a 50 pilot in my PWK A/S for my 350 with their full exhaust, porting and reedblock. As far as breakin it was a too lean for my liking. It might settle on a 50 after breakin for final tune, but I'm thinking more like 52.

I agree though, 60 is probably ridiculously rich for your 310 (which actually starts life as a 295 from what I have learned). BUT, I would rather be steered too rich than too lean. Try a 52, put a new plug in, run it around at a little under 1/4 throttle for several minutes, listening to your engine to tell you if its too loean or rich. After running it around like that, hold that throttle position while simultaneously pulling in the clutch and killing the engine. Pull the plug and report back as to what color the center electrode porcelin is. Any grayish or white color indicates too lean. Paper bag brown is nice and safe.
