After 11 long months I have turned a destroyed 350X back into action. From SK and got this bike shipped from Kitchener ON. Needless to say I got duped on this sale. The frame was destroyed but engine ran well enough.
Started by painting what was green over black over original red plastics just couldnt stand the look of what i got vs. what was expected.
I put in a new clutch to see if the bike actually moved, it did but needed lots of work.
Completely tore apart minus the engine, which will be looked into in the future
Welded the frame back together and built and welded in gussets
Made new engine mounts and repaired damaged mounts on frame
Welded up axle and machined down to size for bearings
Powdercoated frame
Line X skids - not sure how well they will work out
All new bearings and seals for suspension
Various other new parts, (sprockets, chains, bearing carrier,
New plastics, seat cover, fork boots, No reason for color scheme just thought i'd look good.

Great work! Did you buy a new white headlight case/plastic or did you just paint the old one?

Nice resto job. I think the white paint looks great!

Thanks,
Just painted the headlight case white over the red plastic, not the best looking from up close, same as the tank just a temporary job. Just really wanted to ride this bike this season and then focus on plastic tank, engine rebuild, new exhaust for next season.
Been hard getting used to the twist grip throttle and working with both brakes functioning!! Might have to change over to the thumb throttle like my 200X.
The adjusting bolts on the rear brake got lost first ride out, any ideas where I can find replacements??

What type of powder did you use, love that frame? Any chance you know the RAL number?

No RAL #, its the standard corval classic white, polyester powdercoat.
Done at Saskatoon custom powder coating, did a great job really happy with the finished project
