Just like the title states, I'm looking for gas tank decals for my 85 Tecate. Ebay has them for all years except mine. Also do red and green bikes take different color decals? Thanks for your help.

oem decal for a green tank had a green background, not sure about the red tank but i would assume it would have a red background. i have seen the 85 repro decals but I can't remember where. i don't believe they had any background color so they would would with either color tank.

I could be mistaken, but I think the red Tecate tank decals were just black and white. Look into decals from a KX. The last tank decals I got for a Tecate were actually for an 84 or 85 KX500 and they look boss.

Ryan, contact "dcreel" on here. As far as I'm concerned Doug is Mr. Tecate. If anyone would know it would be him.

Here is the only pic I have of a red 85 Tecate in close to perfect condition. It was sold on Ebay a few years back. The tank stickers look to be blue on white and the seat looks to be blue.

The '85 dealer fold out.

I see no reason why the only difference wouldn't be any more than the color of the plastic. The red '85's are rare birds in close to new condition so the pic above is the only one I have seen. I realize the seat could have been changed. Kawasaki only offers the blue seat cover for the '85 models.

Hmmm. That fold out says every Tecate is made in Nebraska. I guess the Scrambler isn't the only mass produced 3-wheeler made in the USA. :D
So far this is the best option I've found for the decals. They come in packs of 5 and the largest is 8 inches. It looks like factory was 7.5 inches. They are dirt cheap and I planned on ordering some ATC70 parts from this place anyway. These are white back ground with black lettering. http://www.powersportspro.com/pages/Catalog/Product/9138
Here's a pic of mine. Its not bad at all. No cracks in the plastic, I think the rears are old school Maiers. Had new tires and I only paid $300 at a Harley swap meet. I had to buy a Ricky flywheel for it though. I'm gonna get some better pics then bump the gas tank polishing thread that Mr. Clean started when I get time. Check out that custom boot hanging on the front brake lever! Its not needed at this time but I thought it was good to have on hand. Its really dusty in the pic, it cleans up really nice.
