Long distance riding of course! anyone handy with computers wanna give this stuff a try? Its a program that can entirely replace the operating system on a tomtom and you can load your own maps, track your trips, etc etc.. so what i am proposing is we start a group on here, load this program on a gps and start tracking trails and share info. we have enough folks around to make some really nice maps. http://jrepetto.free.fr/ttmaps/en/ is the website for the program. as im typing this am making a copy of all the stuff on my tomtom on my laptop so if I completely make it fubar, I can copy it all back to stock. anyone else down to play?

U can.. I am about 4 hours into it and still don't have all the required programs installed on my computer to run the generation software.. the best part is all it takes is a cheapo tomtom gps.. all the development stuff is free.. gonna share this with some more folks round here to try and tackle a simple small area first.. say one small park like jericho or whatever.. then start branching out when and if I get some more support.. its called the wheels anywhere project if anyone is interested....

MIOPOCKET is good piece of software for this it can be installed on almost any gps ,even cars with built in navigation i ran it on a cheapo ebay navigation deck and found it was pretty good , lots of software available , check it out .
