I fixed my tri-z shifter problem today (thank you Denn/Tim Sr), and when I installed the the clutch plates, and put the pressure plate back on, tightened down the spring bolts, and the rod bolt, I pulled my cluch lever in to make sure it was working correctly, and I noticed something. It looks like the one half of the pressure plate was traveling further than the other, like the one side was hanging up. If I lossened the one side up a little bit, the pressure plate would look like it was releasing equally on both sides. Are you suppose to turn the clutch spring bolts in until they bottom out, or turn them in until the pressure plate has even travel on all sides. The clutch plates look new, and the springs do to, could I have a warped pressure plate or clutch boss, or do you just tighten the spring bolts in until the travel equals out on all sides of the pressure plate when you dissengage the clutch? Sorry if this is confusing. Another thing, do you have to take the clutch basket off to replace the right crank seal? I noticed in my tri-z manual that there is a crank seal retainer, and when I looked at the trike today it looked like it was behind the clutch basket. Sorry about the brochure, but I wanna make sure my clutch is in good working order. Thanx

Please dont bump your posts to the top while they are still on the front age. When people are one who know the answers to your questions, they will not answer any faster because its at the top of the page instead of half way down.

The all the bolts in the clutch should be completely snugged up. There are no adjustments with them. Your clutch is pushed out from the center, so the only way it could possibly come out unevenly is a bent basket, a bent inner basket, or a bent pressure plate. A loose nut for teh basket, or bushings teh basket rides on on the shaft may make the basket tilt when you pull the clutch, and create the impression its uneven. A couple of crappy springs might make it come out unevenly. How does the clutch work? Does it try to pull forward, when running, and in gear with the clutch pulled?

Sorry about the bump. I noticed that the clutch boss does wobble a little bit (I know it cant be good), and when I first bought the bike, with the clutch lever in the whole way the trike would jump forward every couple of seconds, but not that much, the clutch basket has grooves in the fingers, but they are not that deep. What do you think, the clutch boss needs tightened down? Oh yeah, another thing does the clutch basket have to come off to replace the right crank seal?
