I bought a 310 kit from ESR a while ago and finally got around to bolting it on last weekend. The kit I got was ported for TT Racing. Below are the dyno results, 48.10 HP and 31.20 lbft of torque. This is using stock carb and airbox assembly with the lid removed. My exhaust is a CRF sectional. I was very impressed with the numbers and figured others would be interested in the results.

I dont know too much about dyno results for 2 strokes but isn't it weird that your tq and hp both dipped around 5500 and then came back up?

this is nice too know. wish i could see the numbers with a 38 a/s carb and an airbox delete. the drop off in the middle of the curve tho is kind of weird supposed to be an all purpose port job basically so you'd think the middle of the curve would be steady from low to high. did you do any tweaking with the needle to see if it would take the drop off out or did you just do a few simple pulls.

Tire spin will cause that dip.

The dip was due not having the throttle valve and needle jet dialed in perfectly. We were able to tune that out.

I'm curious as to what mine will put down. ESR Pro-x cylinder 310(295) TRX 9 porting, PT Hi-Rev pipe, Race gas dome, rad valve, 39 pwk, no lid on the air box. probably pretty close to yours.

nice! that should be really quick. I bet it sounds great. I have been trying to call esr, I just get put on hold then nothing. I tried to email them no replies. I really want to buy a pipe. If I order from them will I get it?

Those are some pretty good numbers! :beer

Makes me wonder what mine would do as well.. ESR350, ESR reedblock, 38mm AS, ESR ATC5 pipe with silencer, TRX9 porting with race gas dome....

I need to find someone in my area with a dyno..

Is that the non-power valve kit then?

I recently spoke with tom at ESR. Have no worries, they are in business. I know of some people who have recently made a purchase and the transaction was perfect!

I cant wait to see it Matt. that is an awesome bike you have built! 48 hp to the rear wheels has got to be a heck of a ride!!!

It would be interesting to see the dyno readings for a stock fresh 250R. I know that they are "supposed" to be 38hp, but an actual graph like that would be nice. Of course, I assume that the factory claimed 38hp is at the crank, whereas your dyno reading is at the rear wheels, hence the desire to see rear wheel numbers for a stocker. How much is lost between the crank and the rear wheels, I wonder.

Mine ('85 250R) is on 3rd bore (I think, I'd have to go check), open air box, K&N filter, Mikuni 38 flatslide, Boyeson reeds, 3/8" reed spacer, Trinity stage III porting, Weisco piston, Bill's pipe, Answer Roost Boost. I've always "guessed" that I'm somewhere around 45hp, but that may just be wishful thinking, based on the factory's claimed stock hp of 38. And again, comparing apples to apples means that my 45hp guess would also be at the crank, not the wheels.

Jerry Hall at Halls Precision had the unique opportunity to dyno a showroom stock 89 TRX250R with 20hrs of ride time. All original down to the pipe, muffler, airbox lid, motor never had a wrench on it, ect.just like it rolled off the Honda dealership. It made 38hp to the rear wheels. Even used the factory 20:1 oil ratio for testing purity.

Xrider those numbers are a few numbers too low for me.
I recently rebuilt my 88 Trx 250r with a stock cylinder and was dyno tuned by Kenz cycle tech at 51.2hp with a stock cylinder. My 88 Trx 250r has a mild ported cylinder, 1985 ATC 250r head and cylinder gasket, 38mm air srtryker carb, carbon tech ht reeds, ESR trx9 pipe, and no air box lid.
I'm sure when you buy the 38mm air stryker carb your number will go up and will be your best bang for your buck or you will not be disappointed when you buy carb. Good luck with it and enjoy riding her.

Well a dyno is a tool for measuring changes/tuning. The numbers aren't 100% comparable from one machine to another. Numbers can also be inflated.
