ive been looking around and not been able to find to find much. just looking for some info before i order anything or rip into this thing.

i have an 85 200x. its had starting/idle problems blah blah. i got that all resolved only to run out of gas and break my kickstart trying to get it going again. the whole shaft seems loose. in/out of the case play that is. the return spring seems to have let go. it still works but obviously does not come back. duh. what are the odds that its just the spring? or does something else in there break usually. i was warned to take it easy on the kickstart but it appears it was beaten before i got it.

any info would be great! i have a service manual but it seems pretty vague on the kickstart :(

check the bolt on the back of the motor. It's possible it fell out ( seen it happen before ).

my bet, you broke your spring....that sucks. I hope it is just your return bolt but I am betting its the spring. Crack the cases time!

p.s. if your kicker bolt didn't come out I would jump on this spring that I found below. They don't come along very often....

Only certain years of the XR200 kicker parts are the same . I wouldnt go threw all the trouble of tearing the motor apart without buying a NEW spring if its avalivle . These break all the time .
