what size ??? brand to use on a 85 tri-z? the 18 inches that came on it are to small. thx!


They work ok on flat ground. But climbing hills i get hung up to much.

25" front 23" rears clear just about everything on the trail. 20" tall rears are a twenner while they clear alot, they can still be effect while sliding the trike.

Agreed 18" are kinda small, but personally I'd go with 20, maybe 22"..you don't want to rob that animal of it's hill climbing torque!!

As important is what kinda soil in the hills where you are..a soft loose sand and you'll want something different in the tread than if it was clay or stone filled earth.

You likely have some of our great Canadian shield around you..all that granite is challenging to climb. Especially if wet!

If you are serious about woods hill climbing on a TriZ this is the setup: 25: front (Trail Wolf on this one) and 22" All Trax on the rear with 12/48 gearing on your 85, or you can go a little higher gearing with an 86 though it works fine there too.

thx for the help! i think ill look into 20" rears since we ride in sand alot

I prefer 20's on all sport model 3 & 4-wheelers.

i've got 20" razr's on my 86, they work quite well. i don't do much hill climbing though...

iv been running these 20 inch kenda mx klaw's work good 95% of where i ride i do get hung up in quad rutts sometimes, 22's would be my suggestion
