I have dealt with everything possible with the 2nd gen. tecates and most and almost everything for the first. The Q is where have you guys been getting the pro link pivot bearings? I have the number off it but they are only made by one mfg. and there u.s supplier is out of stock at the moment. I found them on fleabay but they have to be ordered from the u.k. Has anyone else had this problem?

Pro-links are for the R's and Hondas, lol. Kawi used the uni-trac. lol, just messing with you Ben.

You can also try and contact x-system on the board and he may be willing to make some out of Teflon/silicone, or slbtr500 should know something about it.

Call south shore bearing and read them the number off of any bearing and they will cross reference and ship them to you. Old crabby guys but super good with finding parts. 1-617-471-7800. I had mine in less than a week and very reasonably priced..

I was in a hurry typing before I had to get my daughter off the bus and had spent the 2hrs before searching for the bearing and pro link came up in the search. It must have stuck in my head. Dan the bearings cannot be cross referanced since they are only made by one company,IKO. I turned some bushings out that will work fine until I get the bearings but getting the old bearing race out is proving to be a bit of a problem. I have 3 pivots, one I cut the races with a carbide burr on a die grinder and heated it red hot and it still wouldn't come out. The second I heated the piss(again red hot) out of it and tried to drive both races and the spacer out from one side ,no go on that either. The third is soaking in some used motor oil at the moment. Hopefully that with some heat will get them out

I don't know how many people make the bearing but I do know that when I needed a set I found out the exact dimension of the bearing and they are used in a couple of other wierd applications. One of them was an early honda CBR1000 not sure if they were made by IKO? I was going ot buy them but they were way more expensive from bike bandit then from south shore bearing. I know there is a lot of bad info running around the site and guys running there mouth. I originally bought a set of swing arm bearings casue some yahoo said they would work.THEY DONT.. I still have the bag with the part number they shipped to me when I ordered mine. I'll look for it tonight but I would recomend just giving them a call. Worst case they say no and you can call me a nuckle head when we meet at trike fest... lol Best case they have them and your problems are solved. My father owned a marina as a kid and he always needed wierd bearing for trailers, outdrives. motors etc and these guys have always come through.. Just my $0.02

Call Greg Winkleman, owner of Buffalo Bearing on Military road. Tell him Jeff from Weaver's sent you. Give him the numbers off the bearings. I'd be shocked if he couldnt get them or didnt have them already in stock.

I'd be shocked if he couldnt get them or didnt have them already in stock.that was the second call I made they know their chit there. They don't stock it and have to get it from the mfg. I can get the bearings but it wouldn't be in time for TF. No worries I finally got the old races out and installed the bushings I made. I think I will leave them in until they fail (or don't),they may be a cheaper alternative for these bearings in the future.

Did you call South Shore Ben? Dan is speaking from experience and just replaced that bearing not even a year ago. You asked the question and we gave you the answer. I don't get it.

What material did you use for the bushing? Neoprene? I bet that would last years if that's the route you end up going.

If you want I'll get that bearing and bring it to Trikefest for ya, just let me know.

I did ask the question and did get answers thanks for pointing that out. I was hoping someone had a miracle answer that the same bearing was used on a different machine that the part number was still active so I could just go to my dealer and it could be pulled from the kawi,honda,ect... warehouse. I used black delrin to make the bushings, I don't know what type of plastic that is but it is very hard. I used it to make a punch tool to get the old races out,not even a ding on it after hitting it with a hammer repeatedly.
