been wanting an SX and this is the first 86 i have come across but it is pretty beat up but just wanted to know what you guys would pay for this the guy says to just make him an offer and if i do go check it out what should i look for

no title and he said it was a gift but im worried about buying something stolenThese are nearly 30 year old machines,most don't have a title or ownership of some sort. In NY it's not a big deal to get But I know it varies by state. If you have the VIN# you can have your local PD do a check on it.

ya in canada when I buy a machine and it doesn't have a title I call the ministry of transportation and they run the VIN for me which comes in very handy to know if it is stolen or not, also 9 times out of 10 they tell me it has never been titled, it wasn't required back in the day

I bought a 86 that had been sitting in some guys yard for like 10 years, payed $50 for it as it was beat to hell, cleaned everything out, new tires and battery, and she rode like a champ, think i had about $200 into it if it runs, id say 200-400 or so, there reliable trikes.. they are worth having the suspension is a bit stiff on em though...
