this is the first time i did any hill climbing with this trike. it was a blast.

after watching this vid i noticed it was breaking up in 2 and 3 gear @wot. when i did my jetting it was in 4&5 and no break up at wot

Very nice Jarret! That second hill you went up looked like a beast and yes I could hear it breaking up as you tore up the hill. You may need to go one size up or maybe two. what main jet size are you currently running and what MM carb are you running?

still running the 26ml carb im running a 138 with nine discs in the supertrapp.

this was thee absolute best ride i ever had. first time riding in a new area. only had a short time lots of great trails down by the river and this gravel pit. cant wait to go back

The supertrapp I am restoring came with 15 and I think I am going to start at that then work my way down. When you were in 2 and 3rd and it started popping were you at 1/2 throttle or 3/4 throttle?

i was at wot. as soon as it got under load going up the hill it straightened right out.

it was only in 1,2,3 on the flat at wot that if miss fired

yeah, its the flat that has me intrigued. I would think on the start of the slope at WOT it would cut out, but then you put it under a load and it straightens up? The fact that you are at WOT means the main jet needs to be increased, but then again a few more discs may help...maybe 12 or 13?

ya i wish i had more discs. i think there is more in this engine juts needs a better tune

Technically doesn't more disc improve flow? So this would mean it would increase the need for fuel, and compensate extra air for the lack of gas (limited by the main jet)? There for making it more lean, right?
You should really try to get your hands on a xr carb. They really make a difference.
Nice vid!

You need to do a plug chop when the motor is missing and poping . I have herd that sound a hundred times over and a lean condition somtimes runs fine no poping but bad on the motor so what i'm saying is your prob running rich but it does sound like your close .

do you have a local dyno shop that you can take it to? after mine is together and I perform a couple heat cycles, I am getting it tuned by a local shop in STL. Its expensive, but to me, its worth the extra $$ so I don't blow it up ;)

if you get that monster 200x on a dyno you better post up those numbers

Wow man, kinda scaring me on some of that climbing..

Why are you letting off the throttle before you hit the crest?? You stopped short and I thought you were coming backward a couple of times!!

ha ha ha i let off at the top cause of what is on the other side. once you hit the crest its staight down the other side almost as steep as the front side.

A really test of ones nerves!! Especially for the person at the bottom holding the camera..your lady I assume!

Ride with care while you learn your new machine..or it will teach you lessons the tough way!!!

Or you just might look like my friend Jack here...

Good video that 200x was eating up those hills! My favorite thing to climb with was my 01 RM250 that thing would move some dirt. That does sound a bit like my 200s i had when it was leaning out. Like the guys said plug chops or a dyno is the best bet. Good luck.

i did some chops today the only way i could get the miss fire was to hold it on the pin in the bottom gears on flat ground. as soon as you put a light load on it the popping and farting stopped. put the air box lid on and the problem got worse at wot.

dropped down to a 136 and seems good in all throttle positions and loads and the plug looks good.
