I just picked up 2 yamaha 200 chain drive tri motos for 50$ and i'm fixing one up. I got it all torn down cleaned the engine and want to paint the top part only. (Fin area used to be black from factory) I bought some 2000 degree ceramic header paint. Will this be ok or will it cause my engine to overheat? I also have a question about the vin. I was told they both were 1985 but I think they are 83's...I tried looking up the vins but didnt find anything on yamaha..

No paint I know of will not cause your engine to overheat, but you will want to test the color before you start painting it. Personally I like semi-gloss black engine paint like they sell at Auto Zone or Pep Boys as header paint is usually pretty flat. Make sure you degrease that engine completely before you start.
If they are chain drive I suspect they are 1983 as well. Look for the part numbers on some pieces. They should start with 21V you can also post photos of the carbs and we'll figure it out.
