I've had it apart for awhile, but finally got around to doing stuff to it.

In these pictures I've painted the frame, foot pegs and skid plate with PlastiDip.

I have 4 coats of the black on all and am going to hit the pegs and skid plate with the silver metalizer from PlastiDip as well.

I showed a picture of the rims to give you an idea of how rusty the frame, pegs and skid plate were.

Next is to get the wheels done with base black coat then the gold metalizer.
Do the triple tree black with the handle bars, chrome steering plate and the fork housings the silver.
Probably going to do the front hub and rear bearing housing and rear hubs gold as well.

I want to go white on the plastics, but I can't find any white hand grips for the life of me.

I saw someone on here who had turned their bolts and etc into a zinc color. Did they do that themselves or have them shipped off?
If you can soak them yourself or something like that, what is the product called?

Thanks.

I took off the front axle and hub. I had to use heat, blaster and a pipe wrench + cheater bar.
As you can see the side with the hex head is all scarred and the head is stripped.
I had tried to remove it once with an impact, didn't work so the other day got it out with the wrench.

I looked in the manual, and it seems like the axle should just slip out of the hub, but it wont. I was tapping on it with
a hammer (thread side) to try and knock it out, no luck.

Does it come out a different way? I noticed a collar on the other end, so wouldn't think it comes out that way.

Thanks.

is should practly fall out. the threads slide through the bearings not the nut end. your bearings are probly froze to the shaft and it will take some kind of penatrating oil and an amount of force

By 'nut end' I meant the non-threaded end of the axle. If I were to hit on that with a hammer, the collar would prevent it from coming out that way, right?
I may scrape off those dust seals and see if I can get some PB blaster stuff in there easier.

Thanks.

it looks to me like what is says in the manual diagram it should just slide out. From your pictures yours looks a little gunked up so

Yeah I'll just keep some penetrating stuff in it for awhile. Is there anything I can buy and put in a 5 gallon bucket to just soak this thing in?
I'm replacing the brakes and bearings/seals anyways.
