I've only done about a foot and a half to two feet. It always looks deeper once you're in it! You have to be carefull if there's any kind of current. Even a slow moving stream at that depth will start taking you downstream, and a little way from where you are crossing may be a whole lot deeper.

Well as long as you have your lid on your air box and go at a good speed most areas knee high you can make it. Just dont stop or pray that it doesnt die on you. And worse case, just wheelie thru it! LOL :D

I've always wanted to get a 250 big red and throw some decent mud tires on back, snorkel the intake and all overflow/vent lines, dielectric grease the spark plug boot, and take that baby up to the handlebars.

Most 3-wheelers float...so add the extra bouyancy (sp) of salt water and you could float all the way to England....

My SX has been across my grandparents pond

I'v had my 200X in water ou to two feet. Kinda hard to steer in a little current (front end floats). The engine was completely submerged, and she never missed a beat!!!

First off drain all the water out of the air box LOL :D But then you will need to lube all the exterior parts really well including the bearings. Start from the head set and go down..........peace

When i had a little 85 125m i took that thing to hell and back man. Everyday i had that thing up to the handle bars in water. Never had a prob with it either. I had the engine, seat, headlight and all under the water for over 10-15 seconds and she was still pullin through. ONly one time i had to jump off and float it across when i drove it off into a 6 foot hole in the pond. But it was still runnin when i got it to the other side. HONDA'S RULE!! they ever die!!

the air box is a box where the Air Filter sits in.

Funny story--Back in the 80's a friend of mine had an '87 Suzuki 230E. That's the auto trans version of the Quad Sport. He tried to take it across water that turned out to be 4 or 5 feet deep. It sucked water of course and had to be towed out. Well he got it back to the pavement and, towing it behind another machine, he popped the auto clutch at speed. At first it slid the wheels and then it turned over and it looked like a fire hose coming out the tail pipe! Water must have been going 10 feet before it hit the ground. That' is REALLY the wrong way to get the water out but it worked. He's just really lucky the rod wasn't bent.

When I was riding in the UP with a bunch of golf carts we crossed a river and I couldn't be out done so I crossed. I had to work the clutch and gas, but I went through no problem. I was sitting on the seat and the water was up into the headlight. Amazing thing is at the end of the day I had no water in my oil.
