Awesome post for sure.
I have a question- If the left clutch lever is now the rear brake on the ATK, where is the clutch lever?

I was thinking the exact same thing Fabio. Awesome video, and what a great guy to keep "The Wheelie King"'s spirit alive.

I have old pictures of Doug D. that I took as a kid at a monster truck show in the late 80s. What an amazing rider that guy was.

I wish I could ride wheelies like that. I would be the envy of all my riding buddies

The clutch lever is under the handle bar.You can see it when the guy is riding it towards the end.I met Doug back in the 80s .before he started the threewheeler part of his show.He was at the Oswego Speed way in NY. My brothers and I went down and met him After his show at the speedway. We ask him about doing a three wheeler and he told us he something in the works but didnt give any details. He was very personable.Talked to everyone that came to meet him and answered everyones questions.

At 47 sec on the vid when he is telling about the brakes you can see the clutch lever also its silver and down under the handle bar.

We should try to get him to come to trikefest with the 3 wheeler and do a show for us. That would be awesome.

I saw that 3wheeler up close and personal! I was at a convention that he was performing at and they had a roped off area for him in the building. I was standing at the rope and he was heading right at me. I remember getting nervous because I thought there's no way he's going to be able to turn in time. He got about 2 ft away, hit the left brake and spun it right around. Pretty cool design.

So awesome! Clever idea with the turning brakes like that but I supposed that trike is only good for wheelies with those mods xD

As a kid I saw The Wheelie King do a show at the SilverDome Supercross(Bailey won to give you an idea on how long ago it was). He was impressive never tapped a front tire on both the Dirtbike or the 3wheeler. The entire Supercross track twice...as a kid he was amazing, but a bit of a sideshow for most adults I believe. Inovative for sure but a tuff way to make a living...now you got flip it for the crowds.

Thats really cool but how do you stop just one tire on a solid axle?

go back and watch the vid. he said it was custom built by Honda just for him. it's a open diff i imagine. although you could probibly mod a Kawi with their selectable diff if you really wanted to try and make your own. :wondering:

It has a some kind of differential setup.

I saw him do the High Wire act, on a Black KLT with a similar rear diff/brake setup, at a local Air Show. Was pretty neat.
Great Video. HH

The guy in the video is 10 minutes away from me (Verona). I saw his high wire act a few years back at our local fair parade. I remember thinking... wow, there's the guy I saw in dirt wheels. Why the heck is he here in this small town. (LOL)
The engineering on those bikes is awesome! Thanks for posting.

I met Doug as well way back in the day, At Englishtown raceway park here in Jersey, They had what they called the night of thrills once a year, He was a very cool dude hung out afterwards signed posters and BS`ed with us for hours. Had that poster on my closet door when I was a kid till it fell apart. Great to see his memory live on.

I saw Doug perform at the first ever Arena Super Cross in WPG back in the early 80's. Larry Huffman was talking none stop and if memory serves me right Ross "Rollerball" Pederson won despite all the cheering we were doing for the local riders. If you know who all three of those guys are you are VERY old and likely Canadian. I recall the promoters made sure that the arena sold out by announcing on the radio a few hours before the race that Bob Hannah was expected to show up, never happened. Great memories...
