honestly i would say no. i dont like where he says it has a new transmission, but yet it still wont stay in 2nd gear...

honestly, I would offer him 400 max since you have to replace the shift fork...not fun!

Yeah and there are some parts that aren't original on it either so really being a "rare" bike doesn't make it so rare when it's not original. I agree with yaegerb on the price too

Another vote for not a good deal. Round my area, that is the average price I see for a very good condition '86-'87 200x ...the few I see for sale anyway. For me to pay $1500 for a 1st gen, it would have to be 95% factory mint with no add-ons or aftermarket "upgrades". I'm talking completely original, un-molested, excellent condition and 100% mechanically sound... maybe a few minor cosmetic things like normal wear and tear on plastic (not all broken and zip-tie stitched) and side cover finish, maybe some worn tires. But that's about it...
