View Full Version : Powdercoated parts for JasonB
Here are a few parts I just got done with for Jason, but I gotta admit, this wasn't my best batch. That Super Mirror Black is about as unforgiving as a scorned lover.

Looks dam good to me!! Beautiful.
Thanks fella's. The pics hide the little blems in the wheel. I've narrowed it down to this HF gun is what you should expect from a $70 powder coating gun. I think I might step up to a better gun . I think my prepping is good and my oven bakes well, but its time for a gun upgrade.

Have you tried it without the diffuser on the end of the gun

On the HF gun- my p/c guy has one and he was telling me that he used it once and hasn't used it since.
Have you tried it without the diffuser on the end of the gunI sure haven't, but I'll give it a try. I need to just except the limitaions of the gun and step up to a nice one if I'm gonna take this seriously. I believe a lot of the problem lies in the power supply and the way the gun supplies the powder. It has the hopper on top and when air enters the hopper it pressurizes the hopper and then pushes the powder through a curved tube and then out the nozzle.
I watched a video of a $400-$500 gun with a remote hopper and adjutable power supply and man was it nice. The powder was actually atracted to the part like it should be. lol

I also find on a HF gun to keep shaking the gun it seems to deliver the powder must consistent
Thats the same thing I do with it, but in doing so it seems like it spits more than I would like it to. I hate this saying, but "it is what it is". lol
