So although my 250sx always ran great, the choke cable broke so i took the carb off and replaced it. While it was out I soaked it in a special dip and then cleaned all the jets and passages with carb cleaner and compressed air. Now it starts great but at wot it bogs like crazy. I dont think all the vent lines are hooked up. Could that be the problem? Is there a reason why they are all tied into each other at different areas of the carb? Thanks.

As long as they are not clogged it shouldn't matter as they just allow the carb bowl to vent. You have something else going on there causing your top end bog...You may have dislodged some crud that is now partially restricting your main jet circuit.

But it is best to have lines on the vent nozzles as it prevents dirt and dust from entering your carb through the vents..

Ok I didn't know if there was some suction effect that was needed by having them all connected. I didn't think so. Man its such a pain in the @ss pulling the carb on this thing!

It's easy if you get out the airbox......

Only the 86/87 had all those crazy vent hoses. A couple even T'D together I believe. I ran them all but maybe it is not necessary.

Actually, I now run a 350X carb with a mere bowl and over-flow hose.

Keihin 08's stopped the cold start issue.......

I agree with RR, something is partially blocking a jet or you have an air leak.

You guys have some crazy problems with these things, I have no idea why.....

I've got 2 that run great with none of the hoses BUT the tiny little mud bees love to plug small holes with mud

and just to confuse the issue with facts, the cold start fix dc mentions also included a new set and sequence of hoses
connecting all over the place and it did NOT help the cold start issue at all.

I also agree that something is better than nothing on those vent hose bibs.

The cold start bulletin has a 2nd page that describes the vent hose routing but I guess I lost it.
The search key might show it up, however useless.

Maybe mouse nest in airbox?
collapsed exhaust?

Vacuum leak?
split boot?
and yes, they are the worst to get on and off.
The 200?
off, apart, cleaned and back on in under 15 minutes.

Will it run at wot with the choke slightly on?
