Well, My 81 200 atc has been giving me some problems.
Just took it on a ride and it did fine the other day other than stalling out in water due to bad coil wires. Got that fixed and I messed with the idle screw in the bottom of carb for the low idle. Its running smooth now but when I give it gas or floor it it stalls and bogs out temporally. It well run with gradual throttle but to hit it hard it just bogs out? Any ideas? Timing? Or anything else

Reading between the lines..the machine was dunked??
Open the drain screw on the bottom of the carb to allow it to run out. Water is heavier than gas remember!!
Water may be sitting at the bottom of the bowl getting sucked up everything you start drawing on the main-jet as the throttle opens.
Did you open the air box and see if it's full of water?

thats not an idle screw thats the air/fuel screw if not set right it will be doggy or die out when you give it gas turn that screw 1 /12 turns out and it should run fine:welcome:

yeah but it's only for idle mixture..has no bearing on accel or power off idle..
have you pulled the carb and cleaned it. maybe it sucked some dirt into the main jet and is partially plugged..
time to remove and inspect I think.

Sounds like you've just picked up a piece of crap in the carb. Split it, clean it with carb cleaner(I prefer B12 spray), reassemble and try again. A good solid generic setting for the F/A is 'Three Half Turns Out' according to the Honda manuals. If that doesn't solve it, and you've got good strong spark and compression, I'd suggest checking your valve clearance.

Update...
After looking at some things... i did alot of things when it was simple. I broke the carb down and no signs of trash, but the tank was full of rust and crap. Got that out and im gunna cream the tank soon. Took the cdi cover off and lined everything up, took the valve caps off. One was loose so i slightly adjusted it a couple thousants and then added an inline fuel filter after the pecock. Seems alot better now. Starts better and runs smoother. No bogging, so im not sure where to pin point where the problems was. Seems like it was just the trash in the tank, but i didnt hurt to do everything else as well.
Thanks for the tips guys...
