250 SX rear shock options???

i need to change the rear shock on my 86 250sx and was wondering if anyone has tried using a shock from a newer atv or something? i could just buy a used one but odds are its in the same shape as mine (FINISHED).

i've got a shock from a blaster on mine, they're cheap and readily available. i had to modify the shock a bit to fit, and it ride a little stiffer than i'd like, but it beats a worn out bouncy one anytime.

what had to be modified, just where it mounts? yeah this one is bouncy as hell haha useless

i think all i did was mill down the width of the "eyes" on each end, they were a bit to wide for the mounts...there may have been a minor clearance issue by the airbox, don't remember. it's also a little longer than stock, but i've put on a lot of miles with it over the last 2-3 years with no adverse effects.
