I found this on craigslist about 15 minutes from me. I had to pick it up because it's cool. I've never seen an 87 200X in person. I had an 86 a few years ago. Why do the second gen rear shocks always go bad? This thing is bouncier than a Chevy Caprice.
Anyways, not sure what to do with it. I have a 350X I'm just hours from completing, so I don't need it as a rider. I'm torn to just park it in my basement because it's a cool piece of history, or part it so that others may live. Still has the keyed ignition!

Nice score! I think you should give it a restoration but I'm just looking at pics.

You scored; That key and pad alone are worth ALLOT of cash!
Restore it or part it out in which I bet you will double your money (if some items are nice......)

No, $500 is what I paid for it. I'm near Fort Wayne. I don't have the patience to restore. I do have the patience to repair to be a rider. If they only would have made an 87 350x.

Is that a chrome DG exhaust? If so I would be willing to buy it or trade it for a stock one...

I think it's an aluminum DG. For this week, it's just sitting there while I decide what's going on. I think I'll park it in the corner until I'm out of school in May, then do routine maintenance on it so it's a reliable rider. I think I'll keep it around for a spare. It needs the forks rebuilt and other stuff. It will give me something to do this summer. I just don't want to end up like the 350x, which I have nearly $2000 in.
Thanks,

i want some parts off it! That DG exhaust, dibs. And possibly that seat, tank fins, keyed ignition let me know. But really main thing is that exhaust i have a nice stock one of my 86,,, we could swap and yours would be one more step towards OEM :)

Please dont part it out. If it comes down to It and you need to sell it, I will drive up there and buy it. Ill bring you an 85 200x and some cash. You can part the 85 out lol.

It's a Maier part. I think they made them late 80's thru the 90's.
