1985 125m battery connector

I was changing the battery and the positive end broke, Now my question in how do I get the connector off with out just cutting the cable? if I cut the cable it will not be long enough to reach the battery?

nevermind I just used my air angle grinder with a cutting wheel and cut it in half.
