last night I got hungry at like 2 am and since I'm in a college town, almost everything open till like 3 or 4, so I went driving around trying to figure out what I wanted and drove past a used car lot and see some sort of sport trike out of the corner of my eye. Sport trikes of any type are kinda hard to come by in Arkansas so I did a quick u-turn, was a little excited and even forgot to downshift from 4th to 2nd. It was an 85-86 250r. Went back today and talked to the lot owner and found out it belonded to the mechanic that does work on his street bikes for him. It's all made up of 85 and 86 r parts and some cr parts too and everything has been rebuilt. The dude wants $2100 for it, the guy at the lot said he had like $6k into it (maybe bullsh!t). I don't really want to pay that much, but it's all rebuilt and really tight and all it needs is new rear fenders. I'm kinda thinking about selling my 89 R for it since this one's all rebuilt and my 89 need some work done to it or using the money from my arctic cat if I can ever sell it. What do ya'll think? Thanks for reading the book.

It's all in the eye of the beholder, but for 2100, it should be darn near perfect.

$2100??? Thats VERY expensive. Make the guy show you all of his receipts for these parts he built it up with. You can find one just as nice much cheaper.

tme i know you can find cheaper 250r's out there ,, but for $2100 if it is as sound as the guy says thats not to bad,,, its way better than dumping $1000 into a $1100 250r that is less than mint,,,, and loose all that riding time too,,,, johnny boy do some research it might be a great deal,,,,,

Well, I certainly cant say you dont have a point, Kasey. If the guy cant back up his price with receipts, walk away or talk him down.

i don't think it's that bad a price if it runs strong like the guy says and everything other then the rear fender is in nice con. here in minnesota all the 85/86 R's are going for 2800.00 plus i'm about to buy one here in minnesota for 1500 but it needs alot of work well not alot but needs work and a rear fender maier about 250.00 not to bad i say get it but do try and talk him down doesn't hurt to try..
