Was trying to start the Z but it would not start. Pulled the line from the 2nd pecock value (the one that only has 'ON' and 'OFF'). With the position at ON no gas came out of the line that goes to the carb.

Is this normal.

Second on the back of the fuel pump there is a hose. I took the pump apart and dont know if the hose should be pointing down or up.

Third, regarding the hose on the back of the fuel pump...where does that thing go. Is it just an air line or what?

Thanks in advance!

Darius

the hose should go to the crankcase ,, it operates the fuel pump with pressure and vacuum ,,,,,,,,

un hook the line to the carb and kick the engine over if feul doesnt spray out of the line then your pump is dead time for a rebuild.

Uhh...that may work for you, but it never did for me. Dunno why but mine always ran.

Thanks guys...

I did not realize that hose to the crankcase provided the pressure. I was wondering how the Tri Z pump worked. Now I know.

Its sure is good to hear her running again....It kinda feels like a part of you has died when you don't hear the old 3 wheeler running!

Thanks for the help!

Yeah I think there is something wrong with my pump, or I am loosing pressure somewhere. Everytime I go to start it after it has been setting, I have to prime the carb (dump gas in it), then the bike will start up first kick.

where do you dumb the gas in? I was trying to do that but could not make sure enough was in there.

Seems to work ok now.

Tri Z's...gotta really love them to own them

I had fuel line rigged up to a 2 litre soda bottle, I would just hook it up to the carb, then put my fuel tank line back on after I filled the float bowl.

There is a gas tank vent tube that runs up to the front, and all you have to do is blow into it.

Is it the one that protrudes from the top, back of the tank?
